Aging Resistance

The aging resistance of labels and marking describes a label’s ability to retain its physical and chemical properties over a long period. It is crucial for applications where labels must remain legible and functional for years. Influencing factors include UV radiation, temperature, humidity, chemicals, and mechanical stress. Particularly polyester, polyimide, or special acrylic films, as well as durable adhesives, ensure high long-term stability. In industries such as automotive, aerospace, and medical technology, durable markings are essential. Standards like UL 969 or BS 5609 serve as a benchmark for durability under extreme conditions. Special printing processes such as thermal transfer printing with resin ribbon or UV-cured inks improve the print’s resistance. Protective laminates or chemical coatings further extend the lifespan. The correct choice of material and printing technology ensures durable marking even under extreme environmental conditions.
