Laminate Film

A laminate film is a transparent or printed protective film that is applied over a label or marking to increase its durability and resistance. It protects against mechanical wear, UV radiation, chemicals, moisture, and extreme temperatures, thereby preserving the legibility and function of the label in the long term. Typical materials for laminate films are polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP), or vinyl, depending on the desired resistance and flexibility. Laminated labels are particularly required in industrial, medical, and automotive applications to ensure permanent marking. Laminate films are available in various surface textures, including glossy, matte, or textured, to avoid reflections or to provide additional security features such as tamper protection. Self-adhesive laminate films are often used as overlays and applied to printed labels afterwards. The right combination of label material, adhesive, and laminate film ensures maximum durability and resistance under demanding conditions.
