white matte
3MTM 3922 DSL / 3922 has been developed for marking applications where very high demands are placed on durability and resistance to extremely high temperatures
.
The cast acrylate film is UV light and weather-resistant, solvent-resistant and dimensionally stable. The matte, white surface can be post-labeled in thermal transfer printing and offers a very good contrast for the readability of density barcodes.
3922 DSL / 3922 is equipped with a modified acrylate adhesive, which forms a permanent bond even with difficult substrates such as low-energy and structured surfaces.
A typical application is, for example, the marking of printed circuit boards; 3922 DSL / 3922 withstands all soldering and cleaning processes. 3922 DSL / 3922 is also an economical and reliable solution for other processes with similarly difficult operating conditions, e.g. in some areas of the steel industry.

Based on our current knowledge, the following functionality and durability can be expected from 3M™ Thermoscript foils. Generally, not less than the following times with vertical outdoor weathering, if the foils have been properly processed and applied according to 3M recommendations:
| Durability | Outdoor use: 2-3 years Indoor use: almost unlimited |
|---|---|
| Shelf life | 2 years |
| Recommended storage condition | 23°C / 50% relative humidity. It is recommended to store the film/sign rolls in polybags. |
| Printing | Screen / letterpress / flexo / offset printing processes A color qualification test before series production is recommended. Note: It is also recommended to test the basic print for chemical resistance if necessary! |
|---|---|
| Thermal transfer printing | The special surface coating of 3M™ Thermoscript films is very suitable for subsequent marking in thermal transfer printing. The visual appearance and the resistance of the subsequent marking depend on the ribbon used. In order to achieve an optimal print image, the printing speed and the transfer temperature of the heating bar may have to be varied. |
| Die-cutting | Sharp knives as well as minimal web tension and the use of the siliconized protective paper on both sides are recommended to avoid possible adhesive leakage. |
