3MTM Laminate foils offer, in addition to special design effects, excellent protection for the print against weathering, abrasion, and chemical stresses in applications on labels and signs made from 3MTM ScotchcalTM or 3MTM foils. 7730FL and 7732FL are equipped with a siliconized polyester protective liner for extremely high transparency.

Based on our current knowledge, the following functionality and durability of 3M™ Thermoscript foils can be expected. Generally, not less than the following times with vertical outdoor weathering, provided the foils have been properly processed and applied according to 3M recommendations:

 

Durability Outdoor use: 2-3 years
Indoor use: virtually unlimited
Shelf life 2 years
Recommended storage condition 23°C / 50% relative humidity.
It is recommended to store the film/label rolls in polyethylene bags.
Die-cutting Sharp knives and minimal web tension are recommended,
to avoid possible adhesive squeeze-out.

Resistance to chemicals and solvents

The foils are resistant to most mineral oils and greases, fuels, aliphatic solvents, weak acids, salts and alkalis, such as:
