3M™ White Micro-cavitated (MC) Polyester labels are durable, high-performance materials with excellent thermal stability.
They use 3M™ Adhesive R3500, which was developed for smooth surfaces such as glass, metal, and plastics (including polystyrene).
The adhesive offers excellent UV resistance, good initial tack, long-term adhesion with clean removability, and is a very good alternative to electrostatic adhesion.

Note:
As a removable adhesive, performance may vary depending on the substrate. Extensive testing is required before use. Textured surfaces should be avoided. Not suitable for children’s toys or sticker applications.

Typical physical properties

  • Peel strength: approx. 0.3 lbs/in (53 N/m), TLMI method, 180° peel, 12″/min, 1″ sample width
  • Loop tack: approx. 0.5 lbs/in (88 N/m), TLMI method, 12″/min, 1″ sample width
  • Shear strength: n. a.
  • Adhesive application: 1.55 g/100 in² ± 10% (3M method E10MFP01)

 

Release force range (TLMI, 180°, 300 in/min):

  • FM01972: 15–50 g/2 in
  • FM0197K: 50–150 g/2 in
  • FM043102: 20–60 g/2 in

 

Operating temperature: –29 °C to +68 °C
Processing temperature: +5 °C to +43 °C

  • Promotional labels (POP)
  • Removable instruction labels
  • Special coating for good ink receptivity with most film ink systems, thermal transfer, copiers, and laser printers
  • Suitable for water-based flexographic inks (e.g., Akzo Nobel Hydro Film 4000, Arcar Ultra Film Series 5)
  • Compatible with thermal transfer ribbons (e.g., Sony 4070, 6070, 6075, Iimak SP330)
  • Good initial adhesion
  • Long-term adhesion with clean removability
  • Repositionable
  • Excellent UV resistance
  • FM01972: Liner for high-speed die-cutting and matrix removal, not recommended for sheet-fed printing
  • FM0197K: Special surface for improved feeding and reduction of static issues, ideal for copiers and many desktop laser applications
  • FM043102: Liner for high-speed die-cutting and matrix removal, re-moisturized after silicone coating to reduce curl, ideal for perforation and fanfold applications
  • Shelf life: 2 years from date of manufacture
  • Storage: 21 °C, 50% r. H.
  • Pack printed and die-cut labels in polyethylene bags (2–4 mil LDPE) to minimize moisture exposure
