The 3M Security Film 76968E consists of an easily destructible film material, which was specially developed for tamper-evident labeling.

Sufficiently large labels made from this foil, when properly applied, cannot be removed in one piece; instead, they shred or split. This destruction prevents the transfer of labels to another surface.

Foil 76968E is therefore particularly suitable for security applications with a document-like character, such as inspection marks or tamper-evident seals.

The moisture-resistant foil is flexible, yet it possesses high tear resistance.

Based on our current findings, the following functionalities can be expected from 3M™ Thermoscript foils. Durability is generally not below the specified times under vertical outdoor weathering, provided the foil has been professionally processed and applied according to 3M recommendations:

Indoor use: virtually unlimited
Shelf Life: 2 years
Recommended Storage Conditions: 23°C / 50% relative humidity.
Storage of film/label rolls in polybags is recommended.
Printing: Screen / Letterpress / Flexo / Offset printing processes
A color qualification test is required before series production.
Note: It is advisable to also test the base print for chemical resistance if necessary!
Thermal Transfer Printing: The special surface coating of 3M Thermoscript films is very well suited for subsequent labeling using the thermal transfer printing process.
The optical appearance and durability of the subsequent labeling depend on the ribbon used.
To achieve an optimal print image, the printing speed and the transfer temperature of the print head may need to be varied.
Die-cutting: Sharp blades and minimal web tension are recommended,
to avoid possible adhesive bleed.

Film adhered to stainless steel, tested after 72 h storage in standard climate 23/50, DIN 50014.
