Transfer Adhesive 8132LE

transparent / glossy

The high-quality, solvent-free modified acrylate adhesive of the 300 LSE series was specially developed for applications requiring high initial tack and permanent adhesion on a wide variety of materials – especially on low surface energy substrates such as polyethylene and polypropylene. The unsupported adhesive films are covered with double-sided siliconized liners that can be easily removed without tools and offer good processing properties, such as die-cutting capabilities. Different adhesive thicknesses are available for various applications. Especially for the processing of reverse-printed signs, where high stability of the liner is desired, we recommend types 9653 LE, 9671 LE, and 9672 LE.

The products of the 300 LSE adhesive series can be classified as permanent, low-temperature, and special adhesives (PNS) (according to DIN 30646).

Product Typical Applications
9453 LE Applications similar to 9471 LE, but with a slightly thicker adhesive film for better bonding to lightly structured substrates.
9471 LE Self-adhesive equipping of signs, reverse-printed front panels, labels, etc., for bonding to smooth plastic and metal surfaces. Bonds to powder-coated paints and slightly oily substrates are possible.
9472 LE Applications similar to 9471 LE, but with a thicker adhesive film for better bonding to rough and structured substrates.
9653 LE Applications similar to 9671 LE / 8132 LE, but with a slightly thicker adhesive film for better bonding to lightly structured substrates.
8153 LE Bonding to lightly structured substrates.
9671 LE Self-adhesive equipping of signs, reverse-printed front panels, labels, etc., for bonding to smooth plastic and metal surfaces. Bonds to powder-coated paints and slightly oily substrates are possible. Due to the thicker and climate-stable liner, the excellent flatness ensures very good die-cuttability and provides additional stability when processing thin front films.
8132 LE Self-adhesive applications for signs, reverse-printed front panels, labels, etc. The PET liner reinforces flexible substrates, minimizes adhesive squeeze-out, and simplifies die-cutting processes.
9672 LE Applications similar to 9671 LE, but with a thicker adhesive film for better bonding to rough and structured substrates.
9453 FL Self-adhesive lamination of film material on rolls, intended for subsequent rotary die-cutting. Furthermore, the PET liner offers excellent dispensing properties.
9471 FL Self-adhesive applications for signs, reverse-printed front panels, labels, etc. The PET intermediate carrier reinforces flexible substrates, minimizes adhesive squeeze-out, and simplifies die-cutting processes. The double-sided liner ensures excellent flatness and very good die-cuttability.
9495 LE Self-adhesive applications for signs, reverse-printed front panels, labels, etc. The PET intermediate carrier reinforces flexible substrates, minimizes adhesive squeeze-out, and simplifies die-cutting processes.
9474 LE Self-adhesive applications for signs, reverse-printed front panels, labels, etc. The PET intermediate carrier reinforces flexible substrates, minimizes adhesive squeeze-out, and simplifies die-cutting processes. The double-sided liner ensures excellent flatness and very good die-cuttability.

3M 9471 LE, 9453 LE, 9472 LE, 9671 LE, 9653 LE, 9672 LE are UL recognized;
File number MH 26206 for indoor and outdoor applications.

The quality assurance system of the manufacturing plants is certified according to DIN ISO 9002.

The following performance data and properties are based on tests with sign materials such as aluminum, bonded to stainless steel.

Relative Humidity

High relative humidity exposure has no influence on adhesive performance. Adhesion values are generally higher after 7 days of exposure to 90% relative humidity at a constant temperature of +32°C than at the beginning of bonding.

UV Light Resistance

Short-term exposure to UV light has no significant effect on the adhesive bond. For long-term applications with direct sun exposure (e.g., for transparent signs), we recommend adhesive series 200MP or 400.

Water Resistance

100 hours of storage of the adhesive bond in +22°C warm water results in no change in adhesive values.

Continuous Temperature Resistance

The transfer adhesive can withstand continuous loads from –40°C to +95°C; short-term (up to 1 hour) the adhesive bond can be exposed to up to +150°C.

Temperature Cycle Resistance

Adhesion values generally increased when the following temperature cycle was performed four times: 4 hrs +70°C; 4 hrs –29°C; 16 hrs +22°C.

Chemical Resistance

When properly bonded, the adhesive joints are resistant to most mineral oils, greases, fuels, aliphatic solvents, weak acids, salts, and alkalis, such as gasoline, kerosene, JP-4 fuel, lubricating grease, etc.

Shelf Life

24 months from the date of manufacture if the material is stored in polybags in a cool, dry place, protected from sunlight, at approx. +22°C and 50% relative humidity. We recommend storing roll material on supports or suspended horizontally to prevent adhesive squeeze-out at the edges.

3M Test – based on Finat Test Method No. 2 – Peel angle 90°, Peel speed 300 mm/min.
A 0.2 mm thick aluminum foil was equipped with the transfer adhesive and bonded to the following substrates.

All adhesive strength values are average values and should not be used for specifications; application-specific tests must be performed.
* Side with 0.071mm adhesive thickness. ** Side with 0.086mm adhesive thickness.

To achieve a good adhesive bond, the material surfaces to be bonded must be absolutely dry and clean. For cleaning, grease-free solvents such as n-heptane or isopropyl alcohol are recommended.

During bonding, the highest possible pressure should be applied, and the temperature should be at least +4°C. The higher the pressure and temperature, the better the adhesive penetrates the pores of the substrate, and the higher the adhesion values that can be expected.

When unwinding the roll, we recommend using a deflection roller to avoid imperfections during lamination. The adhesive should be peeled off at the smallest possible angle.
