3M color film 92350 has been developed for bonding to particularly difficult, low-energy plastic substrates such as PP/PE. Its extraordinary adhesion is particularly evident on plastic blends such as fiber-reinforced/filled PP or PA, which are increasingly used today in the manufacture of injection molded components. The trend towards grained and highly structured surfaces, especially in the automotive industry, presents an additional challenge – here too, 92350 demonstrates superior adhesive performance. In rotary printing and die-cutting processes, as well as in thermal transfer labeling, 92350 is easy and straightforward to process.

Not suitable for specifications
(Thickness values are nominal)

Film 56 µm, matte, silver
Adhesive 65 g/m² # SE100
Liner 56 µm, 62 g/m² paper, white, densified, double-sided siliconized
  • The new SE100 adhesive “High Performance Composite Bond” achieves high adhesive strength values on low-energy surfaces
  • The high adhesive coat weight optimizes adhesion on rough and structured surfaces
  • Densified and double-sided siliconized liner optimizes consistent die-cutting. The double-sided siliconization of the liner prevents adhesive bleed at the label edges.
  • The special surface coating of the 3M Thermoscript film is highly suitable for subsequent labeling using the thermal transfer printing process. The optical appearance and durability of the labeling depend on the ribbon used. To achieve an optimal print image, the printing speed and the transfer temperature of the printhead may need to be varied.

Long-term temperature resistance -40℃ to +105℃
Adhesive type: Modified synthetic resin elastomer series SE100, suitable for difficult-to-bond substrates such as polyolefins and polyamide
Minimum application temperature: +15℃

Printing:

Screen/book/flexo/offset printing processes A color qualification test before series production is recommended.
The special surface coating of the 3M Thermoscript film is highly suitable for subsequent labeling using the thermal transfer printing process. The durability of the subsequent labeling depends on the ribbon used.

Die-cutting:

Sharp knives, the use of double-sided siliconized release liner, and minimal web tension are recommended to prevent the effects of possible adhesive bleed. We recommend removing the matrix immediately after the die-cutting process. The best results were achieved using rotary printing and die-cutting processes. Flatbed processing must be checked on a case-by-case basis in consultation with our application technology department. Processing by means of laser cutting or cutting plotter is not recommended. Due to the high flow properties and high strength of the adhesive, the foil must not be die-cut butt-to-butt (without a web). The waste matrix must always be removed immediately as the die-cut edges can stick together.

Packaging:

Finished labels should be stored in plastic bags.

See processing information KG-054

When applying 3M 92350, uniform, increased pressure is a prerequisite for achieving full adhesive performance, especially on structured substrates. The use of a felt squeegee or a pressure roller supports the development of contact with the substrate.

Storage at 21°C and 50% relative humidity.

24 months after receipt from 3M. Store in original packaging at room temperature and 50% relative humidity
